Steve Perks has been a successful published and award winning photographer since 2002 who explored various genres before realising his true passion for music photography. Winner of the Pop Cop 'Best Scottish Music Photo 2010' judged by the legendary Harry Benson. Steve has a deep understanding of the music industry, having spent 25 years on the road as a successful bass guitarist covering several genres including rock, jazz fusion, soul and blues. This background has helped tremendously in building trust and rapport with his clients. Steve is a freelance photographer for Retna Images and Big Pictures He also photographs and reviews live concerts for Mudkiss Fanzine and is a member of the official photography team for the annual Montrose Music Festival. Steve also accepts freelance commissions from artistes, promoters, artist management companies, record companies, publications, venues and wire agencies, for portraiture and live concert coverage in Scotland. |

Steve's fully portable lighting setup allows portrait sessions to be carried out at any location, indoors or outdoors and produces material suitable for print publication including magazines, newspapers, programmes and brochures, publicity shots, posters and CD artwork. |
Steve uses professional Canon bodies and lenses for live concert work to ensure he never misses the action or special moment. Steve has worked with rock, punk, indie and blues bands, classical musicians, solo artists and theatre productions. He is equally at home in a dimly lit bar or in the photo pit of a large capacity venue. |
